Did any of you guys play on demos of my songs around the mid seventies. Maybe Andy but I have forgotton names.
"Big Boogie Sam" was one of the songs with a great guitar ending.
I dug the recording out recently and now I have an arranger preparing it for a big band (without the lyric!)
Do get in touch if you are the guys I am thinking of. Definately Tristam Shandy.

To Andy and the band.
I enjoyed reading your blog Andy and all the memories for me that ensued. I first saw ABK at Jaycees on a Tuesdy night in the early 80’s and what a super band you were. As a young singer at the time I always thought, (and still do) what a superb frontman Boris was. You indulged my band at the time, (The Spores) to support you. Great memories for me and I have to say Andy that you are the perfect gentleman. I don’t think I’ve seen any other guitarist, in all the years I’ve been following Nottingham’s local music scene, than you.
I hope you’ll always endure. |

Great reading the story Andy, brings back memories!
I was a DJ at the Palais when there were 2 bands playing all night, I just did the intro’s and 15 mins of Motown or somthing funky ish whilst you guys did the kit change over.
I remember running in one night all excited with anew KC and the sunshine band record, BUT you were practising it already and played it brilliantly that night!
I can remember the Mike Miller Band with a great front man. Mr Cool, I used to call him, Byron? He made single.
What was the other house band that played with Tristrum?
I love the Stumble Bros and fav was Old School. But that funky band at the Palais slips my mind, it was only as far back as 1978? Mick Knight, Edwin Starr, Palais legends Regards Stuart |
