Dear President Gene DiGiacomo;

It was such an honor to be part of the meeting last night. The Chapter, under your leadership is striving tremendously!

I know my Father would have been proud of what you all have accomplished as well as the new ventures the Chapter are embarking on.

I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy, Healthy New Year. God bless and you THANK YOU FOR ALL YOU HAVE DONE!

President Gene DiGiacomo,
It was a pleasure to be part of the Thomas J. Tori VVA ceremony and fitting memorial honoring the 9 Tottenville HS alumni verterans on the school grounds . The memorial service was a beautiful tribute in everyway. Your chapter along with the school Principal Mr. Tuminaro paid such honor to those men who paid the ultimate sacrafice for the Freedom we all enjoy today. Most fitting were the students who performed by singing and certainly had to come away with the sentiment, the price for freedom is high. At times I had chills through my body and tears in my eyes for those men and their families whom I never had the priviledge of knowing prior. Before leaving I had the pleasure of meeting and talking with family members at the showcase wall. It truly was a moving moment experience.

Well Done Chapter 421
Respectfully Yours,
Donald R. Pagano

I am the Co-Publisher of the Tottenville High School Alumni Junction website, which we call "The Trumpet." The Home Page that appears in this Guest Book entry is the site I spend so much time with.

I have published an announcement on the "Trumpet" to announce your developing plans to Dedicate a Memorial at the Tottenville Campus in Hugonot and a Plaque in the older Tottenville H.S. building in Tottenville.

While the Viet Nam War is "Ancient History" to the students and many of the alumni who now attend (or attended) High School at the Hugonot campus, for many of us who attended Tottenville H.S. before and during the Viet Nam Era, we all attended school at the Tottenville campus. That Distinction is important. The Trumpet website attracts more Alumni from our Viet Nam Era than the kids who attended the Hugunot campus.

I am working as closely as I can with Lester, a member of your VVA Post. As he updates me with details about the Dedication on Veterens Day, I will update my page for you on the Trumpet for the enlightenment of Tottenville High School Alumni who actually lived through the Viet Nam era.

I also happen to be a Charter Member of AMVETS Post #1994 in Spring Lake, Michigan. We chartered that Post in 1994, and I served as it’s Adjutant for over nine years. I am now that Post’s Commander.

I am also a member of an American Legion Post with over 1,500 members, in Grand Haven, Michigan, where I have lived since 1965.

Thanks for wading through this rather long entry. Please keep up the good work, and understand that you probably have a whole lot more support than you ever imagined.
