What a great site! i’m tracing my Mums family history and found they all come from your wonderful village and surrounding area their Names were Godby and Jones, have traced back to 1801 some lived at the Pub in 1851(now the Orange Tree) and i think the pond at the end of the village is called Jones pond ? and Jones Farm ! any relatives still living in Thornham ??? Cheers Dave Bradley

I visit Thornham whenever I am in North Norfolk and have a number of photos of the harbour. I wonder if anyone can tell me the name of the wreck near to the Coal Barn. I think it is shown as a working vessel the web site in the Thornham Harbour section. It is photo number 6 by Francis Ronnau-Bradbeer.

Many thanks
Steve Rappitt

Thornham holds a lot of very special memories for me. As a child I used to stay with my Grandparents Nathaniel & Annie Corston & my Uncle & Aunt Ronnie & Brenda Corston at their homes in Church Street. I was delighted to see a page dedicated to the Corston family, and especially to see my Dad Bobby (although he was christened Bernard William) pictured at the village school. A copy of my family tree shows the Corston’s as Thornham residents back as far as the 17th Century, although the last family member (my Aunty Valerie) moved away some time ago. The picture of "Sunny Middleton" also brought back memories as my Dad used to speak very fondly of him & had some marvellous tales! I still enjoy a visit when possible, which includes a walk to the beach, and lunch & a pint at The Life Boat.

ex Norfolk gal, now in Dorset, coming to the Lifeboat for 3 days at Christmas. What a brilliant site! Well done. Looking forward to staying in the village and walking our dog. Any particular walks we can do? ( Poo bags will be carried!)
