Great stuff Ron, In the League, some teams struggle to fill
team quotas. Ventnor is one such this coming season, with the loss on Alan Brewster. We are still allowed a Team in Div2, so, if there is anyone out there wishing to play at that level, and can’t find a place, we’ll be glad to have you, or perhaps at a lower level. Ring dave on 852695 or EMail as above. See you at the Presentation on Friday 14th.
August. Good luck to you all. Dave. |

The following email has been received from Gary Bonner, one of the Sussex IV Veterans team the IW team played recently;
"I just wanted to say a big thank you on behalf of the Sussex Vetts to the Isle of Wight team for their hospitality when we played against them. The match was played in great spirit and the refreshments after the match were much appreciated.
It is wonderful that the Isle of Wight has it’s own dedicated table tennis centre, The flooring and lighting were very good. However, we were extremely disappointed that some basic facilities such as adequate heating and plumbing were not in place. To say that we were cold is probably an understatement. Additionally it seemed a shame that our hosts did not even have the convenience of hot and cold running water for catering etc. and that showers were not in use.
I recognise that maintaining venues costs money. However, if funding is available I would strongly suggest it would make sense for you to invest in making some upgrades to the plumbing and heating. I am sure that you would agree that this would be an investment which would make the whole facility last longer. This will certainly encourage more players to revisit the island and no doubt attract others.
I hope that you accept this constructive feedback in the manner that it is intended, And wish the Isle of Wight team the very best of luck for the rest of the season."
Garry Bonner, On behalf of the Sussex VETTS 4th team. |

This site is the best thing to happen to table tennis on the island for a long time,a big thanks to Ron for the hard work put in for this excellent web site.
I wonder if its possible next season that all the results could be emailed to Ron so that all scores and league tables are kept up to date,this would free up unecessary paper work for Karen also the news letter could be added to this site and if you need a copy you could down load it to give to your members,this could also save the Association money. |

| WELL DONE TO RON FOR SETTING UP THIS WEBSITE, I’M SURE IT MUST HAVE TAKEN A LOT OF HIS TIME AND HARD WORK TO HAVE ACHIEVED THIS. IN TIME TO COME THIS WILL BE MUCH APPRECIATED BY ONE AND ALL AND IT MUST BE A STEP IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION FOR TABLE TENNIS TO PROGRESS IN THE FUTURE. |

All interested parties should listen to our Pauline,who has the right idea. Sign up for voluntary work at the CPC (like our little hall at Ventnor), which is staffed by a voluntary c0ommittee. It’s amazing what can be achieved, if there are tradesmen who play at the venue, then their talents can be utilised for the common good, even if they want some remuneration for materials. Some of us have been doing ’our bit’for years, and would like more people involved.
Come on then and get to it,who knows, even the 2011 Island games TT could be held at the CPC. |
