2006-01-13 Great record of the Marine Corps and your beloved dad’s life therein. In the photograph of his commissioning ceremony, taken at China Lake, in August ’52, he’s got Lemuel C. Shepherd looking over his shoulder, a good luck charm for sure. Where were those quonset huts located, at Pendleton’s 52-Area (San Onofre), or maybe 11-Area (Pulgas)? Thanks for sharing the webpage; it truly strikes an emotional chord. My father, PhM3 L.F. Leibold, was with lstMarDiv., during mop-up on Okinawa, and George 3/7 in Korea, ’51-’52. His very best friends in this life were men just like your dad.

2006-01-11 Did He ever mention the China Medical Teams ??? I had a realative Dr. Arthur P. Black ( Cdr.USN-USNR ) who spent the war behind the Lines setting up medical teams including the "Happy valley Camp" He was Most likely ONI and his activeties higly classified so we have had a hard time breaking information loose.
