Well since no one is willing to post messages in my guestbook, but are contacting me directly, then, I will post a message, that I did attend the 100 Centenaire de Quérin 1908-2008. Quérin, Qc, 100 years reunion... what a great time we had.. it was so strange opening the books for sale and seeing the face of your grandfather Alfred Bastarache and greatgrand-parents, Pierre Desormeaux and Mathilde Lacelle..
What a surprise to finally after 20 years or more of doing research and never thinking of lookin in Quérin for them...
Now I know to look in Hawesbury, ON also.
As we walked the streets, the ireeeeee feeling creeping about.. it felt as though our ancestor were walking with us.
There was 450 people for supper, our name tag stated Bastarache and Desormeaux... it was amazing the people who stopped us.. with there stories of how many times over the years.. hearing there parents mention those names.... We came back with so much pride and joy... Memories never to be forgotten... |

Well what can I say, other then, I left my footprints on the grounds of my ancestors in Querin, Qc August 15, 16, 17, 2008.
We visited the Museum and the church my grandparents were married in and both sets of their parents. My history goes back to 1909 to the mid 1930’s.
Everywhere we went and people saw our name tags, remembered our family or heard about them many times over by there parents... Precious Memories!!!!!!
