Greetings from Cairo, Egypt.
My great grandmother was Louise Gobar Perry, better known as Nana for those of you who knew her. Many of her things were donated to the historical society in 1998 when she passed away.
My grandfather was Lloyd Perry who worked at the police station for years.
My grandmother, Dolores Perry, still resides there on South street where she has for more than 60 years in the same house built when it was surrounded by orchards.
Now, I live in Cairo, Egypt, North Africa but San Benito is still in my blood. |

I enjoyed your website and will likely become a member. I do have a few ancestors who were early pioneers in San Benito County. Aaron Lawson and his wife, Sophia Kanaday, came to California from Indiana in 1859 and settled near Tres Pinos prior to 1870. My g-grandfather was John Howard Carlisle who also was here before 1870. He m. Mary Agnes Lawson, dau of the above Aaron & Sophia Lawson. He came here from Missouri and lived in Tres Pinos, Paicines and Hollister. I also descend from John Devine who m. Catherine Twomey. I believe he also lived in San Benito County.
