This is great idea and opportunity for past students to reunite. I attended Benedict’s from 79-84 and it was a wonderfull experience, the teachers were great and the memories were priceless especially teachers like Fayad Ali, Shaffique Ali, Shakuntala Singh,Mr Grayson and Ms Kamla Ramlakhan just to name a few. The one thing I respect Benedict’s for is the equality and freedom for non Christians to practice their faith. God bless this great institution and to those who continue to make it even greater each day. Remember when and only when the power of love is greater than the love for power can true sucess be achieved.

Dear All at Mount St Benedict College, my brother Ken and I were boarders at the college for the year 1947/48. Iam now 70, but it seems like yesterday. It was one of the happiest times of my life. Indeed, I was extremely sad to leave. We boarded because my father and mother spent that year in
England inorder to qualify as a barrister.
I was recently sent a photos of a few of the buildings and environs, and recognised some of the buildings. I was inyerested to see the dormitory block still existing. I remember some of the canings I received for being naughty- ighting etc- as all little boys do. I also remember well being taken into the hills to look for snakes. One of the brothers-whise name I do do not remember- used to skin snakes, and hang the skins to dry outside the dorm! Another memory is the shilling pocket money we were given, and rsacing to a sweet kiosk near the classrooms block.
Now as a semi-retired achitect, I would love to see any up to date photos of the college buildings.
Father Bede was the Abbot. One of my treasures is a prayer book signed by the Abbot.
I send my best wishes.
