Cătălina Ponor doesnt want to get married!
At 21 years of age, Cătălina Ponor has no plans of getting married. She just wants to enjoy life right now. ``I`ve been locked up for way too long, its my time to have fun, go out with my girlfriends, and gossip, I`m not interested in the family life yet. I didn`t have a childhoon, never mind being a teenager. When I was in the gym, training, or at competitions, girls my age would talk about boys and go out to clubs, so i believe i should recuparate that time. Im not thinking of marriage.
For 3 years since we`ve been together, Robert (Stănescu ) hasnt convinced me to marry him. There are couples that have been together for 12 or 13 years and they are not married. I`m way too young to get married`` the triple gold medalist admits.
Righ now Catalina is in between college and demonsration competitions, which as many formert gymnastics can admit that there is good money in ``fun performances``. Last month, she returned from Mexico with as much as $10,000. And in June, Catalina plans to participate in an event organized by Nadia Comaneci. ``Nadia is my advisor. I have a lot of trust and respect for her. So far, she has helped me a lot``.
Ponor also adds that she would coach in the states if she cannot open a gym in her home town Contasta.
Catalina Ponor has made up her mind that she could live in the USA if her desire to open her own gymnastic club in Constanta can`t happen.
``So far I can`t do anything here. I am very serious of leaving Romania to coach in the states, because no one takes you seriously here. The public is only preocupied with gossip and scandals. I`ve had 2 offers to coach in Europe, but I`d really like to go to Nadia.
I know I can make good money and I put my exeprience in gymnastics to good use. The only thing keeping me here in Romania is my wish to open my own gymnastic club here in Constanta.
I understand that i need a few million Euros, but maybe someone can help me. Maybe a sponsor that likes my project idea. I`d bring little girls, just so they can play around ... and have fun since that is the way I started gymnastics ... from a simple play.``
ROMANIA WON THE EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIPS!
ROMANIA -181,525 point
Followed by RUSSIA -179,475 points
and FRANCE - 177,175 points
and on sunday romania captures silver on bars by steliana nistor and silver on beam by izbasa!
izbasa became champion on floor (yay) and we have another bronze of floor (so we had 2 rom girls on the podium)
