| Amazing what you stumble accross, was at H.P. Arnold Crafts’ previous school, Gravesend in Kent, the most frequent of visitors to his study, he gave up with the cane in the end on the grounds that it served no useful purpose! When called in to see him my long suffering parents were told that I was unteachable, my dad bless him told him it was his job to teach me and to get on with it. H.P. said that it was me or him, in fact we both left at the same time, I believe he went to Manchester Grammar, so I guess he went from there to Blue Coats Have fun and thanks for an enjoyable read |

Stumbled on this whilst looking for old pics of buses that reminded me when i was a kid(brought up in fazakerley 1970).Whilst at a rally outside st georges hall november 09 it triggered some emotions of bygone times and the buses back then had so much character compared to today.I can still picture in my head some of the drivers back in the eighties on the 20,21,92,156,157 that took me to school and back many a time.Seem to remember a driver nicknamed kenny rogers because of the likeness.good site and will revisit no doubt. |

As a liverpudlian of 62 living now in Leeds..it was lovely to take a trip down a few memory lanes...thanks. What I cannot understand is the absence of Muslims who take up 10050000 per cent of Dewsbury!! haha

Great site and enjoyed the memories it brings back to me. I lived in Westvale, Kirkby and emigrated to Australia in 1965 at age 20 years. I spent 2 years as a young Bus Conductor until leaving based at Gillmoss Depot on the 92/93 routes with changeovers from Walton.
Great memories of working the Green Back Enders and the Midnight on a Saturday night from the Pier Head was an education of the Scouse humour, Fantastic days.I follow the Merseyside Transport Trust Preservation site on a regular basis and often look at L265 as I worked on it often.I have played with the A267 bus picture with numbers and locations and it gives me shivers of the great times I had in hometown Liverpool.
Thanks for your time in collating your site and the pleasure it brings of past fond ever lasting comments and pictures you have put together.
Kind regards
Ray from OZ |
