I remember seeing him in Indianapolis In when he performed at a Birch Bayh Campaign. It was magical. I only wish I could have seen him live again. I’m sure you always hear this, but Bobby & Sandra Dee were like a fairytale all girls wanted to have. To be beautiful and talented like Sandra and married to a man who seemed so cativated by her.

Great site and tribute to more than an iconic legend. My earliest memories was my dad playing homage to Bobby’s raw talent and stage presence. Although my father and mother suffer terrible medical issues, remembering my father sing ’If I were a Carpenter’ to my mother years ago provides me peace and comfort. The coolest thing is the torch has passed down musically to my own son’s songwriting.

Dodd, wanted to first thank you for writing such an interesting and enlightening book! Being a year older than you I remember as a kid when I use to see your Dad on Laugh-In. Certainly have enjoyed his music all these years. What is great too is through your book I got to enjoy other works from your parents that I might have never gotten to. I was amazed that you were able to put all that together in a year - you musta worked night and day on it. I don’t read a lot of books as I’m so busy with much, but I enjoyed the couple of months it took me to read it, but maybe because of that I was able to savor it and experience the other stuff that I wrote about and more that I will - thanks to you, your father, and your mother! - WW

I’ve always been a fan of Bobby Darin. As an african american woman born in 1955, Bobby was hip, real and cared about people. Every time I see the movie beyond the sea it’s a reminder of how interesting of a person he was. Old Bob had sole and rythem, and he was quite handsome. It was cool he had the opportunity to marry Sandra for a period of time because they were both good looking people. He is missed.
