For anyone who may have any knowledge of the 5th Radio Squadron Mobile located near Liangshan during 1944-1945, please contact me at my email address at . It seems the email address is not always automatically transferred to a message from the guestbook form.

I am repeating a message I sent yesterday after noting that my email address was incorrect. I’m the 85 year old who was a radio intercept operator with the 5th Radio Squadron Mobile in China near the village called Liangshan. There was a nearby airstrip with activity sometimes with 14th AAF P-51’s and B-25’s, so anyone who has any knowledge of this place, please send me an email.

I am the son of Corporal William Fleharty, a photographer in the 20th. Air Force stationed in India. I would appreciate anyone who might have known my father getting in touch with me. I know his best friend was Jimmy Sardis, also from Oklahoma City, OK.

I was looking for information about my uncle that was in WWII and found his picture on the Roundup for receiving a Silver Star. His sisters and brothers were pleased to see this and I was, too. Thanks so much. His name was Floy Parsons.

My great uncle, 2nd Lt Verne Bryant, was a pilot in the 10th Air Force, 33rd Fighter Group, 58th Fighter Squadron. He was MIA on a mission out of Moran, India on October 5, 1944. Two other pilots that were lost on that same mission were 2nd LT David S Moore and 2nd Lt Joseph G Azat. If anyone has any information regarding any of these individuals, please contact me by email. Thank- you.

My father was an instrument technician in the CBI theater. He passed in 81 without revealing much info as to where he was stationed and or which squadron or even Army he was assigned to. A search of military records revealed his files burned in the St Louis fire of 73’ and to add to the problem, his footlocker was pillaged on the troopship home. From my memories, I do know he was a staff sargeant who I believe worked on B-24’s. One story had him loosing his front teeth after hitting them while pulling his ripcord when bailing out of a stricken C-47. He said they where in a rice paddi somewhere in China. I have a photo of him in uniform but I can’t make out any identifying patches nor insignia. From his stories I believe he had at least some casual contact with Chennault. From my research I think I’ve narrowed things down to the 14th Army Air Corps and probably the 308th Bombardment Group but not sure where to proceed from here. Hoping someone could possibly shed some light on my research.
Best Regards,
Proud Son of My Hero Dad
The Late Staff Sgt. Robert W. Christianson
