Some of the stories about you and I in my 1963 black Corvette split window coupe can not be told on this family venue, like the fight we broke up at the Mahanoy City Rod & Gun Club, we tried to break up a fight between two ravinious females. There are 2 I can remind you of from our days in Shamokin and working down in New Jersey for Revlon.
#1 - On a cold rainy night about 8 or 9 P.M. we drove past Al Povishs confectionery store on Market Street. As we approached the store you encouraged me to punch it and that is all I really remember as the 63 did about 6 donuts that ended with us sitting in the intersection of Market and Pine shaking and we then proceeded to Gary Kappens house and hid the 63 there.
#2 One late Sunday night we were returning to New Jersey to get back to work and both of us worked second shift. As we passed Allentown and started around that rather long horseshoe turn you later told me you heard someone snoring and you knew it was not you, so you made me pull over and you drove the rest of the way.

Hey!
I think it’s bizzarre that you and I both had the exact Suzuki TS185 and Fiat X19
Bought the bike new in 1976 and the Fiat used in 1978
Sold the bike back to the dealer 2 years later with a seized engine for $175.00. used the money to buy a 67 camaro for $300.00 and I sold the Fiat back to the dealer 2 years later for $2400.00 and bought a new Suzuki GS550. Oh the 70’s, what a great time to be a kid. Thanks for the ride back! |
