I am a Rottie Mom...My girl was just dianosed with a cancer tumor in her right shoulder ..She is limping and it is heartbreaking..Our vet said she has only months to live but I myself think it will be less time.We rescued her from the Bridgeport CT shelter in 2001..We fostered her after major surgery for a dislocated rear hip..Once she had recovered we had fallen in love with this big beautiful girl and she is now almost 11 years old..We have a Black Lab, from the same shelter, a golden mifrom a rescue org...We just had to put down our rescued boy .He was 12..Rescued from the Stratford CT Shelter at 3 months old..He had a tumor in his spleen which reptured and caused an internal bleed.He was a Dobie mix.We love all our baby’s.And losing our Libby (Rottie) soon will be devastating..Thanks for all you do.. |

Hi! My name is Danitra and i had a lovely roit asia for 10 years , she recently passed away due to piometria.Lookin to adopt , but this process is brutal. I too would not want any rotties or any other breed to be harmed in the process of re-homing, but truthfully people can by dogs to abuse them.I guess i’m a liitle frustrated with adoption. Everytime I think I have found a possible match the agencies usually give it to someone else before the application is even finished.Well I didn’t even know there was a place local. I’m very interesed I live here in New London. I guess after readin what people wrote I will try this palce to fill out an application. Also the adoption fee is extremley high the cost to buy puppies is just as much? Well I guess I will try  here... |

I am a long time resident of eastern connecticut who now lives in middletown and about to buy my first house. I am a paid firefighter for the poquonnock bridge fire department in groton and also work as a painter part-time in the groton / mystic / new london area. I have always wanted a rottie to be the familly pet, and now im beggining the process of starting my family. My fiance and i are getting married next summer and hopefully buying our house soon. She is a diehard cat lover who has rescued over 10 cats and either kept them, found homes for them or her family has taken them. Most recently she rescued a kitten from a shelter and long story short he needed emergency surgery about 6 months after we had him to fix his abdomen / lungs or he would die.....needless to say 3000 bucks later he his back to being a crazy cat jumping off walls doing excellent. I have always told her I want a rottie. I know how protective of their owners and of children then can be and thats what i want becuase i work 24 hour shifts and there are times when i have to go to work for for 36-48 hours in a row (she is a teacher so she is home around 3). I need to know she is save and i know a rottie will protect. She has been a little leary on getting a rottie only becuase she hears horry stories about them similar to pitbulls but she knows how bad i want one and her only request was that i rescue a rottie. I came accross your organization and was instantley drawn to you. I saw the pics of darby and immediately sent them to her. God i hope she is still available when we get our house, but im sure she wont be. She sounds amazing and perfect for our situation. I would like to get her more compfrotable with rottie’s and was wondering if its possible for us to volunteer once in a while at your shelter. I dont know how many rottie’s you have currently and if you need people to walk them or play with them but i know i would love to and im sure she would too. I really want her to be comfortable with the breed before we get one so that she gets any fear out of her head so that the transition for us getting a rottie will be smooth and she will be able to function with the dog and most importantly trust the dog. Any advice you can give me on this would also be very helpful. Thank you for doing what you do as these dogs are wonderful.

I am in quite a difficult situation. My son got the idea to "rescue" a rottie. The problem is that I am not supposed to have 2 dogs were I live and already have one. I would love an organization to help him get adopted. Rocco is a 4 year old rottie who is a big bog. He is very loveable and likes toys. Cathy  The past couple of weeks have flown by and we have really enjoyed getting to know your whole crew (2 legged and 4 legged)! From the moment we ment Ava we had a feeling this is who we have been looking for, we hope you guys feel the same way. We promise we will be back to visit and plan to hold you to that promise to let us hike out there whenever we can!

| I’m looking for someone to adopt and beautiful rottie that was dumped! She is probably around 4years old and very sweet. She is shy warms up quickly and is very curious about everything.
