Excellent and informative site.

I grew up in Crickhowell and my father still lives in the area.

My great, great, grandfather was George King, the Head Gamekeeper of Glanusk estate, who was allegedly shot dead by John Watkins.

Wonderful site! Very, very, interesting! I see we have a connection on both my parent’s sides of the house. My mother, through the Brookharts and my dad through the Cavitts.

I am the great great grandson of the gamekeeper George King that your forebear was accused of murdering on 22nd January 1876.
An interesting site.

Connie;
Great web site, one question, I gatewayed to your home page from;
freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~conniesfamily/francismoore.html, by backing up to the first slash, but on that page all the surname links lead to your family farm page where most of the surnames aren’t listed. Am I missing something?

Les

I am absolutely delighted to have found this website. I had never seen a picture of my grandfather, William Cass Cavitt, nor my father at such a young age. I also looked at Dad’s sister, Bessie, and I saw my sister Margaret Jane. I am interested in knowing what European country my ancestors immigrated from? My maternal grandmother was Margaret Mills Hull and I see the Mills name also mentioned.
Thank you again for all of this information and any source you might recommend so I could get started in tracing my ancestors I would appreciate. I know nothing about my parents ancestors and I am the only one left.

Thank you for putting together such an interesting site! I am also researching the Wynants/Melyn family, so I appreciated reading the information sheets you posted on them. I’m wondering if you can tell me your source(s) for the Jan Wynants European genealogy? I had seen some random undocumented references to the same, but nothing with the amount of detail you have listed - especially that the painter Jan Wynants’ son was a weaver.
Thanks for your help, and keep up the great work! (Someday when I am retired, I hope to do the same!)

Greetings... What a nifty website you’ve created!

I am interested in one of your enigmas, actually. I believe that May Park[s], stepdau of Moses Sheets and dau of Elizabeth ______ per 1880 census, was an ancestor of my sweetie.

The Ma[r]y Finette Parks in his line, married first James Washington Beck, then Oliver Garrett. There were three Beck sons, Thomas, Carroll and Stanley, and two known Garrett children, Hobart and Gwendolyn.

We know May was born in 1864/65. The 1885 census for Keosauqua lists "Mary Beck, 21, born Van Buren co IA, Sixth Street" with husband James and first son Thomas.

She ran off with Oliver Garrett after 1887, to Indiana, where she died in 1935. James and the Beck boys came down the river to Louisiana, Pike co, Missouri, where they settled.

We are still looking for more info about May and/or Moses Sheets’ family, to clear up whether this is the May Park[s] we are looking for...

Good hunting!
