Thank you for responding so quickly to my message. You suggested that I contact researchers in Jefferson Co. I have already done that and have the cemetery records. If my family had lived longer in Union Co., I’m sure I would have found more information on your wonderful site.

Thank you for your wonderful site! I often come here to see if there are any new items about my family. I have learned much over the years.

According to my research, my great grandparents were married in Creston ia in 1880, and moved to nebraska in 1883 or there abouts. Their names were, John Bauld and Zoura Reynolds. They had 3 children before they left the county on the trip to Ne.
Any info is greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

We have wondered for years about the branch of our Irish family who lived in Iowa. Finally, we have been blessed with lots of important "info" from the kind people connected to this Union County web site. I feel like I have visited my great aunt’s grave in Calvary Cemetery, she died in 1881, without traveling the distance from Wisconsin, to see it! Thanks to all of your help, Alice Kraiss

What a wonderful suprise to find this site to help me locate ancestors in my family (I L Mackemer)who were Creston Pioneers. I am developing a family tree which will be available in July.

Steve & Kathy I think Your hours of work at the Claypool Cemetry have made it look great. I read about it in our Iowa. Now I would like to see the gravestones on Iowa gravestones site. You have done a very good job. I do think your county should have money to help these old cemetrys out. I think there is a state law on this. Keep up the great work Steve & Kathy.

You’ve done a great job! My grandparents on both sides were born in Creston in the 1800’s. All the family has been laid to rest in Creston as I hope to be.

It’s home.
