Nice site. I have ancestors who were in the Revolutionary War on both sides of my family tree, including one who served with the Commander-in-Chief’s Guard for the full duration of the struggle.
My mom did the geneology research to determine "who" the lineage was. My self-appointed role is to fill in the blanks, and tell the story of what they did.
I’m interested in learning more about these people - what did they do, did they earn any merit (or scorn), what did they do after the war? I have many answers, but there are always gaps. If you know of any good resources, you can feel free to send me an email.

| Thanks for giving my great, great, great, great grandfather Job Gooding a new headstone. His original one, which also had his occupation of sea captain on it, was almost totally obliterated when I saw it about 10 yrs. ago. Wish I knew what it originally said. Keep up the great work honoring those that served our country. |

Great sites, so thanks very much.
Researching Clarks and Gates that could be related to Parley W. C. Gates, Elijah Clark Nelson Clark, and Warren Clark. Looking to establish who the parents of Irvilla Gates, born in 1820, were. Irvilla married Thomas Jefferson Wheeler in 1837 in Michigan. Parley W.C. Gates and his wife Betsey Saber are strong possibilities. Parley was born a Clark in about 1800, and was adopted by Parley Gates and wife, Ophra. They lived and died in Ontario County, NY. We have Census records placing Parley W.C. in Lyon, Michigan in 1850; he moved from Ontario County, NY to Michigan in about 1835. |
