| Really fascinating website, full of valuable information. Can I use these pages to make an appeal as I am writing a radio play about Goose Green and wanted to get some details about the support given by HMS Arrow during the early stages of the battle - for instance, were the shells airburst or groundburst? Were delayed fuses used? Can anyone tell me how the orders are relayed/the procedure/language used during the aiming/loading/firing operation? I’m also trying to get specific information about the charges used, the explosive capacity etc. And what was the problem that caused the gun to stop firing? know it’s a long shot but it would help me enormously. |

| In 1973 i was a deck boy on the MV Motagua and berthed just across from my ship was the HMS Berwick in Genoa. I can remember the parties between both crews and especially with the couple of drag queens we had on board. |

can not say as i remember you, as i am sure you wont remember me.
although a stoker, i lived with the writers/chefs from when i joined the Arrow in 81 until 85.Three drafts sea/shore for refit/
and back to sea for the final 18months.I have to say the falkands
were made easier by our captain, the late commander as he was then P J Bootherstone.
Brings back so many memeries!
I still keep in contact with charlie Farley as i am sure you will remember him.All the best jan boy |
