I remember the toilets that you had to push the seat down and then when you finished and got off the seats would fly up and flush. I too learned to hold it until I got up. It made an awful noise. Small kid were afraid of it.
Mickie Knighton married Hudson Highfield and then they divorced and Hudson married Pat Freeman Riley and then they divorced and he married another time and moved off somewhere. He has passed away now. Mickie married a retired Delta employee and they live in Newnan. Mickie has worked at Clark Holder Clinic for years. She has been out for quit some time now with some health problems. I kept hoping she would make it to one of the reunions. Not many of my friends I hung out with nearer my age seem to make it to the reunion. I do have friends that come though - many friends.
Billie I remember how you and Wanda use to swim like fish. Ya’ll could do anything in that pool.
Penny Stitcher, I have you in one of my wedding pictures and you are just hugging me. You were just a young one then. I’m sorry to hear about your Mom.
How many of you GA’s at Dunson Baptist remember the study nights at Dinky’s house. She did all she could to help us pass our steps. I have several pictures of GA Coronations. Those spend the night parties at Dinky’s were great.
There were so many couples at Dunson that set such good examples for us young folks; Johnny & Dinky, Lawrence & Margaret Woodard, Bowman & Betty Estes, Layton & Mavis Wright. June Bonner was our GA teacher and I always thought she was so pretty. Jackie Ward was our YWA leader. We had lots of fun with her also. There are just so many memories from the church and the village. Those two places and the pool is where everything happened.
I had better close. Hadn’t had time to look at the guest book in quite some time so I’m behind. I hope to see everyone this week-end but it will depend on my Mom’s condition. It is very poor right now. I do have someone to stay so I can come, but it will be according to how she feels at the time. Hope everyone will keep her in your prayers. She is getting so very weak.
Joe, I hope everything is okay with you. |

| Linda I have been talking to Marie for some time now.I was so in hopes that she would come to the reunion. The last time I saw her was when I had my son and lived on Georgia Ave.That has been 43 years ago.I did see some pictures of her and she has not changed. She was my maid of honor when I first got married in 1963.I sure wish she was going to be there I would love to see her.You remember Brenda Cole that lived next to her on Greenville. She is in bad shape and in nursing home not able to walk anymore so I was told.I go to church with Sheryl Loftin that lived on the other side of Marie. She is a sweetheart. Next year I am going to try to get in touch with others that are not on the list to come this year.See you on Friday night. So excited!!! |

| Merle, Jimmy and family..my prayers are with you during this time. Also prayers for the Billy Joe Brown family. He passed away yesterday (he was raised on Sugar Hill and the brother of Lynvel Brown). I also received a call from Margaret Mann; Lamar (Mossy) Mann is in the hospital in N.C. with heart problems and they will not be able to come this weekend. Joe, pray you’ll be able to be at the reunion..don’t have to do anything..just see your smiling face. Everyone stay well...see you all Friday or Saturday |

MARIE ESTES DUNN...I nearly fell out of my chair when I saw you had been on this site. You were one of my best friend’s in the 50’s and we had such a good time growing up together. I have thought about you often over the last 50 years. I still live in the same house; please get in touch...I would love to hear from you. Will you please give us your correct address as we have sent you a form each year and it has been returned. Haven’t been on here in several days..was good to see it had picked up. Hope to see everyone the 1st week-end in October.
Joe...we are praying for you. Also, keep praying for Jerry,Johnny,Peggy and Mike as I understand that Ms. Catherine is very weak and doesn’t seem to have much time .
Also, Billy Joe Brown (wife June) had a very bad stroke and I was told there’s not much hope for him. He was raised on Sugar Hill. Blessings to all !!! |
