I used to go in the firs years ago and always had a good time and a warm welcome .
I went last Monday and had a great meal , free quiz and we came 3rd !! Bingo and deal or no deal . Mick made us feel very welcome and made a fuss of us, we will be back again and again . Jane xx    |

What a lovely friendly pub!
I was in there last night with a few friends and we had a great night! We all had our tea (great food, even better prices!!) followed by the free quiz (which we came third in!!) then a couple of games of bingo and deal or no deal. Thank you to Mick and Kath and all of the friendly, welcoming staff.
We will definately be back soon

Fantastic pub, food, drink, staff and boss - we love it!! Especially quiz night!! A great relaxed atmosphere where you are welcomed with a smile. Have only been a couple of times but can definately say that The Firs is now our local!! Keep up the great work!!

Im a regular customer at the Firs and i think the pub is fantastic, its run well by Mick Kath and the staff. I find that most of the staff are pleasant, good to talk to and approachable (Hayley is the best though!!!). I think that the food is nice and the beer is kept well, i dont think that the beer has lost its repetation as mick is well known for his fantastic kept beer. i dont know how people can say bad comments about the firs (i know that not everything is perfect and things can be improved) but the pub has won so many awards for its good repetation, for example best fund raiser of 2006, best and most sold puddings in July 2007, best hygene bar and kitchen, best kept cellar and best barmaid!!! |;). I could say alot of things that could be improved to make the pub better for the customers that have not enjoyed their visit but I properly would get sacked by Mick (yeah you guessed it I am a barmaid that works there) and any of the regulars reading this will know im the best bar maid there!!! *D. Right then got to go, going to work now and putting my happy face on  for all my customers see you in there bye xxx |

would be pleasurable to sit outside in the evenings but they wont put the heaters on under the brolleys so we had to sit inside where there is no music and the tv’s are on with sub tittles for the bar staff to watch the football or big brother. could be so much better with a little effort  |

been using the firs for years but its changing the beer isnt consistant you cant have a good chat on the patio as theres kids screaming all over the place plus its freezing out there as the gaffer wont put the heaters on,like the brolly ones that were put up 3 years ago and have never been on .the clientel are like they are in gods waiting room shame the gaffer dont like younger people who buy more than 1 pint.it has a sound system that you can hardly here and the music played oh dear.all it ever is is food food food and thats all microwave .loads more i could say but wont. and you ask why do i use it well i dont that often anymore but keep popping in hoping one day mick will wake up and do something.and this comes not just from me but about 25 of us who used to spend big money with you.now the worst pub in the area. and the staff coments there great young girls so those who said there not maybe your getting old.  |

What can i say, a fantastic pub  , excellent choice of food and ever so cheap as well. Will definately be back to try out more of the menu. |
