Thank you for the great guestbook signatures-- as always, if you’d like a response, please put your email in the body of the message and I can get back to you. The initial sign-in page isn’t available to me. Otherwise, just thanks-- I really love reading them.

Hello, Aimee,

First of all, your website is stupendous - never seen one quite like it .

I don’t write many fan letters but when I do, it’s always about a book I’ve finished.
I’m just about to begin Chapter 11 of "Lemon Cake" (the first piece of your writing I’ve ever read) but I can’t wait until I’ve eaten the whole thing to tell you how much I love your work and, as an unsuccessful novelist, how I envy your word-spinning magic.

You are probably familiar with synasthesia and in particular the lexico-gustatory type, (I am an l.g. memnber) and I can’t help marvelling at how you’ve raised this
condition to such a mystical dimension.

I’ll now return to devouring the next chapter and will be buying ALL your other books in short order.

Thank you for being the writer I wish I was.

Simone Brightstein

I’ve only read one story you wrote..."Willful Creatures". Based on that, I’m stoked to see what I hear from you at ASU tonight. Peace Aimee.

Oh man, I just finished An Invisible Sign of My Own. I couldn’t put it down. Over the summer I read Lemon Cake, too, and I loved it. You’re amazing. <3

Hello,
I just wanted to let you know our bookclub, THE JOYFUL PAGETURNERS, will be reading and discussing your book, THE PARTICULAR SADNESS OF LEMON CAKE at our Jan.26th, 2012 meeting. We are a library sponsored book club that meets monthly. I am employed at the Derby Public Library, Derby, KS, and am the liason between the bookclub and the library. I will be leading the discussion of your book and I will be putting together a discussion guide including summary, your bio, and discussion questions I find on the internet.
If you would like to join us that evening for a discussion by conference call at the library we would love to have you! We have had 2 previous authors join us for discussions in the past about their book.
Looking forward to reading and discussing you book!

Great to look around here and read some stories! Thank you for coming to read for us at OSU this weekend, and for so graciously sharing your time and insights with the MFA students. I’m so encouraged and find much to identify with in your stories, your life, and your ideas about writing and living.
