I have added James Hood to the website in the Christmas Blitz section.

Thank you for providing us with his information.

CWGC have him as James Ferguson Hood and his date of death as 21.12.1940.

Any information you have on him would be welcome.

Regards Ant

I believe an entry should be made in your list for the only full Time Liverpool fireman who was killed on duty by enemy action.

His name was James Ferguson HOOD and he was killed by a collapsing wall during an air raid in Forge St/Juniper St Kirkdale on 12-12-1940

Fireman Hood was a Scotsman who joined Liverpool Police Fire Brigade in 1935 as number 379H and he served at Westminster Road fire station

Hi there excellent web site. Just one amendment needed. The Royal Daffodil 2 was sunk at Seacombe Ferry not at New Brighton. I can still remember the ferry boat standing half submerged as it was tied up at the landing stage. I can still remember walking up as far as Lime Street before being able to get on a tram. And I am 75 next March.

Very moving-had a lot of Muscatelli and Vermiglio uncles who fought-one died and several emotionally damaged by thier experiences. Thankyou for this site.
