I am a direct descendant of the Patrick / Ann Sharkey line. I have tried for a long time to sort the various Sharkeys, and would really appreciate any help you might be able to offer. I have found that there is no imagination in naming children - most are "Patrick, John, Ann, or Nicholas", and without dates or parents a formidable task to catalog. Can you help me?

| I am just jumping into the Crowley research (please don’t groan!) and am a descendent of Jeffry Crowley through Benjamin Crowley, James Crowley, Allen Crowley, Josiah A. Crowley, John William Ive Crowley, and my mother Roxie Lee Crowley. My great Uncle Paul Crowley wrote up some stories and a compilation of Crowley genealogy long before internet. Uncle Paul had the Crowleys starting in England but stopping off in Ireland for a generation or less en route to the colonies. This does not seem to be the case, though. Greetings Crowley cousins, here’s a little gem I found recently;
John Croweleye of Toneworth
The oldest document I have found so far is a legal Demise(lease) deed for a shop ’in bovaria’ (cattle-shed, cowshed) in Warwickshire during the time of King Richard II 1377-1399 from an Abbot named John and a Convent at Heneley in Ardern (modern; Henley-in-Arden) walking distance from Wootten-Wawen and Ullenhall and Kinwarton. Toneworth was in the parish of Worcester, which was, also, nearby. |

| Grant; appreciate your good work. I just obtained a copy of Ariel L. Crowley’s transcription of the Kinwarton, Warwickshire, England Parish Register that he personally transcribed. It contains 56 Crowley entries; and 32 Hopkins entries; including Births, Christening, Baptism, Marriage, and Death dates, but not always linking the individual to both parents; e.g., there are 5 William Crowleys, and 1 Will (the Elder) Crowley. Still hope we can find a Hopkins with his DNA sample that will ’match’ the Crowley’s DNA towards solving the father of Jeffrey. |
