Oh what fun we had at Hanson’s/ We would ride around and up town and back to Hanson’s. Those are great memories.

My mother was a waitress at Hanson’s. When she wasn’t working, we went there to eat often. My favorite plate was the Virginia Ham Steak with pineapple slices cooked on top. It was delicious and smelled so good. Of course, the hamburgers and fries were great too. The Hansons were like family to my family. After I was driving, this was my favorite hangout. The jukebox was always blaring our favorite songs. It was a favorite place to go on dates. I met my husband at Hanson’s. This place was definitely in my heritage. They don’t make places like this anymore. Hanson’s must be waiting in Heaven for us all to get there to be together again.

What wonderful memories this place holds for me. We went there every Sunday after church and also on Sunday nights. Their bbq was the best ever. Sometimes I can still smell the fried chicken. I wish I had the recipe.

It also holds special memories as a teenager. What a wonderful place to be with your friends.

What a great idea to have Hanson’s picture on this website! What fun times we had riding around Hanson’s after a ballgame and seeing all of the gang!I wish our children had a great place like Hanson’s to enjoy. The Hansons were wonderful people who served good food and allowed us to have a good time. We miss that place!!!
