Dear friends of Hunza valley, You are brave people, i think this natural disaster will soon be over, nature will give back your land and you will again be able to built those beautiful small colorful mud houses. Hunza women are also brave and i could not forget the scene on tv when they were harvesting their crops before disaster destroys it, this shows the courage of these people and respect for RIZAK.
I must say one thing here that the government of Pakistan could have done more., they had over three months to better plan the situation. GOP spends millions of dollars on various useless projects, Kala Bag is one of them,- this natural reservoir may be have been useful if in control by our able engineers

even if I am far from Hunza, living in Switzerland, my prayers are with you, wonderful Hunzakuts... me and my wife Dorothy (do roti ;-) visited NA in 93/94 and will never forget how nice and helping the people where, we never experienced such an hospitality anywhere else.
Please take care my good friends, mountains sometimes remind us how small and helpless we sometimes are. |

We cannot stop disaster, but can minimize the magnitude of the natural disaster through proper planning and understanding of the concept of disaster management. The Northern Pakistan including Chitral are very prone to natural disaster due to its rough geographical and climatic condition, in this condition there is a need to develop a Disaster Management plan for all the areas and a separate organization is need to be formed in government sector with well equipped resources. We all the communities of chitral are with our brothers of Hunza during this harsh time, may Almightily Allah help us from this disaster, Ammen,
