I had the privilage to serve in what was then the UNCSG-JSA from April 1993-April 1984 as the 4th platoon leader (Barbarians). At time there were only two companies in the Spport Group - the HHC folks and the Joint Security Force Company. The JSF only had 4 platoons. There were only about 300 soldiers assigned to Camp Kittyhawk (as Camp Bonifas was then maned). Though many years have passed, the time that I spent "In Front of Them All" remains amongst my fondest memories. The soldiers, American and Korean, that I served with were, without exception, superb. It was a tremdous way to start a career.

On the day the Pueblo was taken, I was in South Korean (in the U.S. Army) attached to the United Nations Command, Military Armistice Command - and was there when the crew was released. The organization I was attached to was the unit responsible for the meetings with the North Koreans regarding this and other matters.

I toured Panmunjom and the DMZ in 1995 while stationed in Japan. It was a bit of history I had never known about. This all brought it all home to how real and dilicate a world we live in. We must all remember how deer our freedom is and how much it costs to stand free for the future of America. Freedom is not free... "There are times when the tree of freedom must be watered by the blood of patriots".

Pat, I was wondering if you knew who had or has the video from the Axe Murder incident, NBC news aired some of it in 1976 during a Special Report right in the middle of a football game; I have been at the JSA since 2007. Thanks
