Dear lady K as a semi exiled Englishman staying in the Ex colony’s yearning to return home I found your website delightful. And will make a point of visiting your splendid home when I return.

merci pour cette merveilleuse promenade en votre compagnie et celle de Vivaldi. j’ai beaucoup apprécié ce moment d’évasion que vous m’avez offert et auquel je ne m’attendais pas dans ma recherche des quatre saisons.

Great web site! I just wish there was a picture of YOUR Mom, as we share the same name! The comment below is from my oldest daughter April, who told me of your site. Amazing how many of us Thachers live near the water still! I can’t imagine being too far from the ocean! Good luck with your site,I’ll pass it on to other family members.javascript;emoticon(’;-d’)

This was such a treat to discover when looking up my family’s coat of arms! I can remember doing a family tree and report for school when I was much younger, and I am pleased to say that I am descended from Antony Thacher’s family. Our part of the family hasn’t moved too far from Gloucester, just furhter south into Rhode Island.

I found this, Lady Katherine’s, website while I was searching for a copy of Anthony Thacher’s letter to Peter Thacher regarding the Tornado/Hurricane and shipwrech.

There is some possibility, even likelihood, my branch of Thatcher and Lady Katherine’s branch of Thacher connect somewhere in their roots and trunk.

Thank you for the beautiful website. Coming from a seafaring family I am drawn to oil paintings of (and watercolor drawings) of sailing ships. I could not find the title nor artist of the sailing ships depicted on this website - I’d really like to know wht they are and by whom....

Katharine, this is lovely! Thank you so much for sharing. My folks were from Devonshire as well....but I expect they were no more than the local drunks! LOL

Dear Lady Katharine, I was great friends with Harold F. Thatcher a grandson of the Pueblo Thatchers. He did wonders for the Rough Riders Musiem of Las Vegas New Mexico where Teddy Rosevelt visited for reunions. And all the time I thought Harold was making up the stories about his ancestor Rev. Peter Thatcher of the Old North Church. What a lineage!!

Lady Katharine, How lovely your home is. Finally traveled on the website, and hope to have more time to browse. Have you let other family members know about this? Love Polly

I found your website working on family history for some neighbors as a surprise gift...they (and I, also, through a different line) are distant cousins of yours, apparently, having descended from William the Conqueror and others. Keep up the great work...I don’t know where your "castle" is, but thanks for the tour.
