| When the LIA was first organized we had many members, when negotations for land claims began ,many were dropped and everyone else had to prove ,by percentage of bloodline,their eligibility according to govt’s standards.We are not allowed to hunt the caribou outside of the zone ,if we live outside of Labrador,recenly it came down that we no longer can come back for a few weeks to fish,no tags given.So what’s happening with the LMN is similar .Not being a lmn member i don’t know what’s happening inside the nation but from experience i do know that if you are to advance then the leadership have to act for the whole and represent them as they want to be represented ,as a body looking for fairness , you must bring to the table a unified voice ,converse not confront . Just my opinions and thoughts , thanks for the space. |

| Early in life my mother made me realize that playing cards is an insecure, unstable game of chance not related to Labrador life skills. Mom did not raise a hand to spank me but she told some men off pretty bad for trying to play cards for money at our house when I was just a young boy. | Well it looks like the Mealy Mountain Park is a go, the Federal Minister announced it today. The Eagle River water park and the Mealy Mountain Park combined covers a 13,000 sq. km. area. I would love to see up to date maps of both areas as all I have is an old study area map from a number of years ago. |
