| Miners has now been taken over by new management. Both restaurant and bar looking gorgeous, food is AMAZING and very reasonably priced and staff are extremely friendly. I would advise anyone to take a trip down there and try it out! |

| Can’t believe what has happened to this place! Used to be the best pub in the area but called in recently and it is dirty, scruffy, food was horrible, owners give the impression they hate it as much as I did! Sort it out! When I lived here a few years ago the atmosphere was amazing the staff were brilliant and friendly it looked and felt like a real country pub. It now feels like some grotty back street boozer!!! |

What a great website for a well established Country Inn. Matt Nash, along with a group of Nashes will be visiting your area in a very short time. A part of their time will be spent at your place. I so wish I could be with them. One day, I hope to visit.

I stopped by for a wonderful lunch while visiting Sling back in April.
Imagine my excitement upon reading your menu when I learned that my great great great grandfather’s brother (Richard Nash) had lived in your inn in the 1830/40s while he managed Old Sling Pit Iron Mine for George Elway Jackson. Richard and my ggg grandfather William Nash were free miners and briefly owned the mine (see a record of transfers of the mine on our family website at members.aol.com/_ht_a/lynnash911/slingpittransfers.html). Also, see an interesting quote from Richard in 1841 regarding the mine on my Yahoo site at groups.yahoo.com/group/nash_fod/message/12?l=1
Anyway, I’m so glad I stopped in for lunch! Your food was excellent and the service was attentive. You have done a wonderful job renovating the inn--next time I hope to stay a few nights!
I am sending your URL to all of my family members (we have traced our genealogy back to the Sling area in the 1770s, and likely much earlier).
Best wishes,
Matthew Nash
