My VERY Best wishes my dearest friends; On this happy note, I was admitted into hospital this last week, with chest pains, a burning and pressured heart. I have been misdiagnosed all so often, by doctors who told me, "its nothing more then stress!" I had FINALLY gotten the dreaded news. I stayed for a week and had 7 cardiac experts find I had 70/90 percent blockage in all 3 arteries surrounding my heart and a high blood sugar level of 530. "I BEG YOU ALL ,PLEASE SEE YOUR DOCTOR REGULARLY!" It can and WILL "SAVE YOUR LIFE!" It was agreed, I WAS a walking time bomb! I had angioplasty with 3 stints installed and given the proper medications for Diabetes. I feel and look better then, EVER! God Bless the Doctors at Kaiser Hospital, Los Angeles. My love always to You and your family. Now, for the important news. Its time again for our annual Jerry Lewis Muscular Dystrophy Telethon! Here at the newly refurbished Beverly Hilton Hotel ............................... September 4-5th! Stay Up Late & WATCH THE STARS COME OUT!
Television has few traditions as strongly ingrained as the annual Jerry Lewis MDA Labor Day Telethon.
Adults who used to watch as kids now introduce their own children to the 21½-hour, star-studded variety show that simultaneously entertains, informs and raises funds for the service and research programs of the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
First broadcast over Labor Day weekend in 1966 by a lone TV station in New York City, the unique event starring popular comedian Jerry Lewis quickly caught the public’s attention — and raised more than $1 million in pledges. Now, 39 years later, the show will be broadcast by some 200 MDA “Love Network” stations, assisted by nearly a million volunteers across the country.
In 1998, the Jerry Lewis MDA Telethon made history as the first telethon seen around the world via Internet simulcast, hosted by RealNetworks on MDA’s Web site.
An “interactive” show long before the computer age popularized the term, the Telethon’s drama comes from the ever-increasing fund-raising total posted on the tote board — by hand in 1966, now electronically. Jerry’s goal of raising “one dollar more” than the previous year’s amount has been more than met almost every year, thanks to the generosity and compassion of the American public. Last year’s record total was $60.5 million.
Quick Facts about the Telethon
The first Telethon was held in June 1955 at Carnegie Hall in New York. The 161/2-hour show raised $600,000 for MDA and was broadcast on DuMont station WABD.
The first-ever Telethon held on Labor Day weekend, broadcast in 1966 by just one station in New York City, was the first televised fund-raising event of its kind to raise more than $1 million in pledges.
Nearly one million volunteers across the country will be involved in the Telethon over this Labor Day weekend.
The 2005 Jerry Lewis MDA Telethon is the 40th annual show in the Labor Day weekend series. It will be broadcast on some 200 "Love Network" stations across the country and can be seen on the Internet.
Last year’s Telethon was dedicated to the memory of Mattie J.T. Stepanek, a renowned poet and the MDA National Goodwill Ambassador, who died in June.
The MDA Telethon has been held on Labor Day weekend since 1966.
Ed McMahon is the anchor of the Telethon, and 2005 will be his 38th Telethon.

Happy Father’s Day 2005 To My Dad ~Simon Mayer Levi
Any man can be a Father,
but it takes a special person
to be called Dad.
The idea for creating a day for children to honor their fathers began in Spokane, Washington. A woman by the name of Sonora Smart Dodd thought of the idea for Father’s Day while listening to a Mother’s Day sermon in 1909.
Having been raised by her father, William Jackson Smart, after her mother died, Sonora wanted her father to know how special he was to her. It was her father that made all the parental sacrifices and was, in the eyes of his daughter, a courageous, selfless, and loving man. Sonora’s father was born in June, so she chose to hold the first Father’s Day celebration in Spokane, Washington on the 19th of June, 1910.
In 1926, a National Father’s Day Committee was formed in New York City. Father’s Day was recognized by a Joint Resolution of Congress in 1956. In 1972, President Richard Nixon established a permanent national observance of Father’s Day to be held on the third Sunday of June. So Father’s Day was born in memory and gratitude by a daughter who thought that her father and all good fathers should be honored with a special day just like we honor our mothers on Mother’s Day.
The excerpt below is from the Silver Anniversary Book on Father’s day published in 1935.
"This year, 1935, the Silver Anniversary of Fathers’ Day is being observed. Thirty-seven years ago, in the Big Bend hills of Washington, the day had its nativity in a lonely farm dwelling. There Sorrow ministered amid the moaning of the March winds.
A father sat with bowed head in his aloneness. About him clung his weeping children. The winds outside threw great scarf’s of powdered snow against the window panes, when suddenly the last born tore himself from the group and rushed out into the storm calling for his mother. Yet even his baby voice could not penetrate the great silence that held this mother.
Hurriedly, the father gathered him back to his protection and for more than two decades, William Jackson Smart, alone, kept paternal vigilance over his motherless children.
This poignant experience in the life of Mrs. John Bruce Dodd of Spokane, Washington, who was then Sonora Louise Smart, was the inspiration for Fathers’ Day which materialized through the devotion of this father and the father of her own son, John Bruce Jr., born in 1909. Through the observance of the love and the sacrifice of fathers about her everywhere, her idea of Fathers’ Day crystallized in 1910, through a formal Fathers’ Day petition asking recognition of fatherhood."
What Makes A Dad
God took the strength of a mountain,
The majesty of a tree,
The warmth of a summer sun,
The calm of a quiet sea,
The generous soul of nature,
The comforting arm of night,
The wisdom of the ages,
The power of the eagle’s flight,
The joy of a morning in spring,
The faith of a mustard seed,
The patience of eternity,
The depth of a family need,
Then God combined these qualities,
When there was nothing more to add,
He knew His masterpiece was complete,
And so, He called it ... Dad
Author is unknown
Daddy’s Hands
I remember daddy’s hands folded silently in prayer
And reaching’ out to hold me, when I had a nightmare
You could read quite a story in the callous’ and lines
Years of work and worry had left their mark behind
I remember daddy’s hands how they held my mama tight
And patted my back for something done right
There are things that I’d forgotten that I loved about the man
But I’ll always remember the love in daddy’s hands
Daddy’s hands were soft and kind when I was crying’
Daddy’s hands were hard as steel when I’d done wrong
Daddy’s hands weren’t always gentle but I’ve come to understand
There was always love in daddy’s hands.
I remember daddy’s hands working’ ’til they bled
Sacrificed unselfishly just to keep us all fed
If I could do things over, I’d live my life again
And never take for granted the love in daddy’s hands
Gift Kids Can Make For Dad
Fill a jar with Hershey’s Hugs and Kisses. Take one pair of new sports socks and one pair of gloves (gardening gloves, work gloves, etc.) Tack the socks together toe to toe. This makes a pair of arms. Tack one glove to the open end of each of the socks. Now you have arms and hands. Wrap the arms and hands around the jar a couple of times, crossing the hands at the front and tack together. Attach this poem;
DADDY,
If all these Kisses aren’t enough,
There’s two hands to help with garden stuff.
If all these hugs don’t work their charm,
There’s two arms to help keep you warm.
If this gift doesn’t show how much we care,
We have REAL hugs & kisses to share!
To the many Dad’s who frequent our site, I wish You the happiest, healthiest Father’s Day 2005, EVER! You are a very rare breed. It’s a known fact that anyone can be a Father, but it takes a very special person to be called a Dad. If You are a longtime Dad or recently became a Father, I only wish You a day filled with all the peace, love and happiness, life has to offer. My Mom and Dad have been married some 64 years and have sacrificed everything for their children, their great grandchildren and their great great grandchildren. To my Dad, Simon who turned 87 years old this year, I pray for his health and send him my deepest love that as his son, my heart is capable of sharing. His love is forever etched upon my heart and I am eternally grateful for his love, kindness and devotion to family and as the amazing husband, he has been. I am thankful for the belief You have had in me, for your guidance and reassurance You have shown me through the years and your high moral values You have instilled in all of us. I had to remember through the years, sometimes, even daily that You were legally blind. That You continued to have an upbeat, funny, generous and kind disposition at all times. I can’t even remember a day You were angry or mad. I continue to learn from You, to experience life through your eyes. To know what "LOVE" truly means, and how to treat a woman. The bond You and Mom have is nothing more then amazing and oneday with Gods luck, I shall share the same. I only pray I can continue to make You proud of me, as your son and be half the man, You have been for me. I love You Dad and may all great things continue to come your way. With all my heartfelt thanks; Happy Father’s Day; Your loving son; David |

Welcome Message From David
David Levi CELEBRITY ENTERTAINMENT NEWS NETWORK
www.voy.com/195286/
Dear Friend,
Your coming to this web site means more to me than I could ever tell you. It says to me that you are one of the courageous ones, one of the curious. Someone on whom we can count on to continue the silent, individual search for the highest truth in order to make a difference in your own life.
Why this means so much to me is that I know that when you make a difference in your own life, you make a difference in the world. And the world is urgently in need of being made different now.
I know that I do not have to work hard to convince you of this. One look at today’s headlines as you opened your Internet connection this morning has already done that. Pretty scary stuff. World unrest, war, terrorism, starving nations, earthquakes, tsunami’s, bombings, murders, abductions, health related issues. All that any of us are looking for now is a way to make a difference, a way to help change things. OK! So some things like natural disasters can’t be changed, but one thing is for sure, most everything else can.
Now you may be one of those who believe that there is not really much that any of us can do to have any real impact in such a huge undertaking, but I call out to you now from the deepest reaches of my heart to beg you not to accept that belief, not to embrace it, for it is simply not true.
Every-day people, in the every day living of their lives, are what create the collective reality on this planet in which we all live and move and have our being. The way in which you walk through our world affects our world, perhaps more profoundly than you might ever have guessed. A pebble dropped into the water creates ripples that extend beyond your imagining.
I know that most of you have come to this website because you have heard about us on your local news or maybe saw an advertisement or read about us on a message forum, regarding our new entertainment site. Others of you may be here out of simple curiosity, having heard about these biographies’ or news articles and periodicals, having wondered what all the commotion is about. In either case, I see you in the category of courageous people that I have described, for it takes courage even to be curious, and that is not a courage I dismiss lightly.
Part of the challenge we face in the world today is that so many people already have their minds made up about everything. About politics, about religion, about economics, about life itself. They feel that they have all the answers, and there is nothing further to question. There is merely to implement the answers, to insist on the answers, to stick to the answers no matter what.
Yet this is dogma, and dogma is killing us. Our refusal to look for new answers-or to even consider the possibility that new answers might exist-at a time when it is clear to all of us that the old answers are no longer working, is bringing an end to the experience of life on this planet as we have known it.
Of course it does not have to be like this. And it will not be, so long as people at least have the courage to ask, "Might there be another way?"
There are other ways to live our lives, other ways to interact together, other ways to resolve our differences, to deal with our major conflicts, and to reach decisions affecting the huge collective that we call Humanity. and this website exists for those who wish to know more about that. I encourage You to write in our public forum articles relating to the growing need of individuals, not afraid to speak their mind, on world events and controversial topics. Please use this forum to share your thoughts and views, and how we all can truly make a difference. We can end world hunger and assist those starving nations in desperate need of life sustaining medical supplies and food. We are the richest country in the world. How can we sit back and watch the children of other nations starve to death?
So welcome. It is well that you have come here. I hope that you will travel all the pages of this site, explore their contents, and interact with us in ways that feel good to you. And I invite you to join with us in changing lives and changing the world, one person at a time, starting with ourselves. I request of You, to leave a message in our celebrity guestbook and tell us a bit about yourself.
I send you my love,
David Harrison Levi
