Hi,
I just looked at your Van Fossen House page - that was the house where my great-grandmother grew up, and was (I think) built by either her parents or her grandparents (I have family pictures featuring that house from the early 1900s). It was amazing to see the 1903 graffiti pictures. The main Van Fossen signature is my g-grandmother’s, and another one (Lola Shirley/Faun Van Fossen + Ralph Van Fossen/Fred Northrop) is, I think, commemorating Faun’s marriage to Fred Northrop, my great-grandfather. This is a wonderful piece of family history (and I love the other views from inside the house, especially the living room/bay windows!) On behalf of my family, thank you for posting these.
If, by the way, you happen to have slightly bigger versions of these photos that you would be willing to share, I would def. appreciate them! (I won’t post them anywhere; I just want to examine some of the writing more closely.) Thanks again! |

| There are the types of places one might want to visit if they needed inspiration for a horror movie!! |

| Great pictures, just not enough of them! your pictures left me wanting to see more!! I am from northern California, the gold country to be more specific. The beautiful old victorians around the area leave me so curious as to thier stories. Your website is awesome. Hope to see more. thanks |

| Some of the houses must have been beautiful at one time. This is a glimpse back in time. Amazing how many of these structures have remained plumb. Walk in with a degree of respect please. I hate to see "trashy" graffiti in what may once have been someone’s dream home. Thank you so much for the photos and video before these places get razed. |

I’m sure this is not something you would want to do, but do you have any interest in selling that remaining block from Water Treatment? I am a local graffiti writer that has spent many hours, cans of paint, and thus money at that spot. It really hurt my friends and I alot when the city decided to tear that place down because that was one of the only SAFE places for us to go. Please email me if you would be willing to sell me that block. That is something that I would truly love to get my hands.
Thank you,
Duane |
