I am granddaughter of William Edwin Dressler of the 602nd. I had the privilege to attend a reunion with my widowed grandmother and found it wonderful to talk with the men who served with my grandfather. Thank you for this site.

My father, Alfred H. Baume left New York City in 1943 to head out to Ft Carson and ride mules with the 602. He remembers those times with fondness, as well as many of the reunions that occurred many years later. Like many others, WW II changed Dads life and allowed him a much better life for himself, and enabled him to take care of his family, and his wife until the day he died. Dad passed away at 92 years old, on December 10, 2007. He is interned in the columbarium, at Arlington National Cemetery.

I was researching the history of the 602nd, and was happy to be able to find this webpage with all the information I needed. Thanks a lot for taking the time to care for this web page.

My Father Served in the 602 1943 1944 Anthony (Tony) Gaetano.

My Dad has only a few pictures, and had few stories of the war. He died in 1989.

If anyone served with my Dad, please let me know.

My Uncle is Sgt. Alex Corbitt of the 602nd Field Artillery Battallion. He is 90 years old and still living on his own & doing quite well in South Georgia. After searching for one of his "Brothers in Arms" at his request, and consequently conversing with the sons of the late Private First Class Tony Gaetano, I have become interested in finding some of my Uncle’s surviving friends in hopes of being able to re-connect him with them. I found this wonderful site in my search. What a blessing and honor this site is for these men!

My grandfather, Frank Millard (Mid) Hughes originally of Seward Nebraska, served with the 602 B Co. from Kiska to Italy through France and Germany. He passed away in 1995. I aquired all his documents and "souveniers" from my grandmother and have been trying to learn more about the unit and the theaters of combat they participated in.

Great site!

My grandfather was XO of the 204th FAG from June 1944 until the end of the war and actually took over commanding the Group along with 5th Ranger during the last two months of the war (I believe). I have spent a good deal of time researching the Group’s movements in Europe and have secured the monthly after action reports of the 204th from the National Archives. I would enjoy corresponding with anyone who has any connections to the Group during that time and would be happy to share information.

Thank you very much
Scott
