Hallo Robin,
Als groot fan van jou en Arsenal vindt ik het heel erg jammer dat je een zware blessure hebt opgelopen. Ik hoop dan ook dat je in ieder geval optijd herstelt voor het WK. Zonder jou is de kans op de titel natuurlijk een stuk kleiner. Ik volg je al intensief vanaf de goal tegen ivoorkust op het WK 2006(vrije trap). Sindsdien volg ik bijna iedere wedstrijd van Arsenal en ben een echte fan geworden. In nederland heb ik jullie al een paar keer zien spelen. En ik heb dit jaar zelfs een wedstrijd in Londen bezocht tegen Birmingham. Ondanks dat ik rolstoel afhankelijk ben is dit toch gelukt. Toen jij de openingsgoal maakte was de wedstrijd voor mij al een succes. Gelukkig dat je toen nog hebt kunnen spelen. Ik wens je een heel goed 2010 toe en dat je maar snel weer op je oude niveau terug komt. Mijn wens blijft natuurlijk om jou nog een keer te ontmoeten! Ik blijf je volgen!

| Robin had it not been for injuries you would have certainly been crowned world player of the year by now. Ever since 2006 your amazing world class form had always been cut down by injury which must have left you frustrated. It seems that this is your biggest enemy so far. Remember though you will build your own story, your own struggles and you will come through them for players of the future to take inspiration from it. I have no doubt that you will fulfill your potential starting with the world cup in south africa. You will go out and you will win this world cup. I’m an England fan but i’d rather see you lift the world cup. We all believe in you. |

Vervelend dat je er zo lang uit bent en dat je waarschijnlijk pas weer in het volgende jaar april weer kan spelen.
elke keer als ik langs Rotterdam rijd,langs jou appartement in de mooie Maasstad denk ik aan je en word ik er weer aan herrinnerd dat je zolang niet kan spelen.
Een voordeel is dan wel dat je nu heel veel tijd hebt voor Shaqueel&Dina Layla&Bouchra.

Hi Robin.
I’ve been following your career for some years now, and you were always a favorite for me. I saw how many times you had to succumb to misfortune. It is this that made me want to write to you. I’m sure the contrast you see in your life, between the potential you have, and the realization of it, despite your best efforts, brings a sense of "it’s not fair". And that could discourage even the strongest. My advice is this; remember this contrast is so strong exactly because you are so special. You are. And do not be tempted to compare your life story to others (perhaps big talents and their injuries) - it’ll hardly teach you about yourself. You have been writing your own story, and you will do just that in the future. You are even doing it now, in the darker hours. Your story, Robin, is a magnificent story. I can’t wait to see the next chapter. Be really strong and patient, and know that many, many good people are thinking about you all the time. Get well soon. YK.  |

Ik hoorde dat je nog steeds op krukken loopt. Maar dat is denk ik ook niet gek na zo’n zware blessure en een operatie. Ik hoop dat je snel weer zonder krukken kunt lopen en aan de slag kunt gaan om te herstellen.
