FOR;Catherine rosfeld;
Sorry to say Wilkins Township is not now McKeesport.
Wilkinsburg PA. would be a better guess, but I am not sure of this.

Searching for the family of Andrew (Andy) Brown and Betsy (Strang) Brown of Stringtown,Allegheny Co., Elizabeth Twp., PA (It was above Buena Vista near the Old Dravo Cemetery). Andrew (1871-1899)was buried in Mt. Vernon Cemetery under the same gravestone with 3 other Browns. Jemima (1846-1906) add James Brown (1850-1906), possibly his parents but I haven’t been able to confirm, and James N. (1881-1952) maybe a brother but also not confirmed. He married Betsy in Stringtown in 1892 (her father was John Strang)and they had several children there before Andy died in 1899. I believe I found Betsy on the 1900 census living with her father in Allegheny Co. also but her childern were not listed(?). Betsy then married James Baxter and was again widowed and married Jessie T. Mitchell. My Grandfather was John (Mitchell) Brown he died in a mining accident at the Vesta #5 Mine in 1950 my mother was only twelve. If anyone has information I would be grateful.
Thank You. |

From al the statments that are attributed to the Pangburns of Ny, I"m more than certain that these statements are whole heartedly associated with the Pangburns of Western Penna. It is quite obvious that my Grandmother who was the daughter of Robert Pangburn had native american blood. I have a picture taken in mid to late 1930s. If you would like to see her picture, I will send it to you. My ability with sending messages is limitted.
Yours truly,
Bob |
