Firstly, I’d like to assure you that I too am very familiar with the market & its chicanery, and am very much on your side! However, I don’t see the point of relegating this forum to the position of being a place to air old gossip about who was sh****** who in the office!
So I repeat - what do the life & loves of Sim have to do with the market NOW?!
I too liked & admired Sim, but with respect, he was not the reason the Horse Hospital was repaired in any way... that was (allegedly) another of the developers payoffs to keep English Heritage quiet whilst they mutilated the rest of the Stables - mainly the Arches!!
The decision to evict traders from the Horse Hospital was made long before the roof/windows were repaired/renewed. Did you never look closely at the structural models housed in the market office, constantly evolving under the team of architects who’ve been employed by Camden Market Holding for many many years?!
It was always the investors intention to let the Horse Hospital to someone like Alex Proud, it’s far too valuable a jewel in the Stables’ crown for them to sacrifice the huge rent they now demand - and I dread to think what desecration is currently being inflicted upon its unique interior!
Finally, had Sim remained as manager, McGee’s bulldozers would still be working overtime! Unfortunately the investors call the shots & Sim was quite aware of the future facing the market & traders - THAT was the real reason he left... had he stayed, Sim would now be the undeserving scapegoat for your anger as much as Roi is now! |

“What do the life & loves of Sim have to do with the market now? “ in any normal commercial environment one could say you might be right, BUT since the market is all but normal the manager’s capabilities are extremely important. Anyone that has been involved with the market will tell you that the Stables, under Sim’s management, enjoyed a long positive development and created business opportunities for countless traders and since his departure McGee’s bulldozers are doing extra hours…
And to support my above statement - only one example (many others upon request..), I’ve been trading in the Horse Hospital for more than 12 years, a beautiful Victorian building that has been neglected since it was built. The traders had long endured various problems (water seeping through the roof, insufficient & inadequate electrical supply, broken windows, bad lighting…) till Sim persuaded the market owners to invest money and refurbished the roof, windows, etc... Unfortunately, the new bar/nightclub will be the one to benefit from all of this…

What do the life & loves of Sim have to do with the market now?
But as you’ve mentioned it... as Noam was trusted, no doubt Sim was similarly trusted - by his long term partner & mother of their children!!
And, if you knew Sim so well - and your ears didn’t ’list’ so much - you’d have known that he’d planned to leave the market years before K arrived, having had enough of Bebo, & no desire to be around when the Stables underwent the sad transformation from market to mall, casino, etc...
You should also realise that if Sim had stayed, he’d be equally unpopular as he would be doing exactly what Roi does, simply obeying the commands of the mad dictator of Beboland! |

Rumours, rumours….I can confirm one thing - Sim was so devastated that Kendal ran away with Noam (his “trusted” foreman) he couldn’t continue to carry the market on his shoulders and decided to leave London all together. For years I was Sim’s listing ears and enjoyed his company whenever he had time free to pass by my stall. When he left Stables it was obvious no one could step into his shoes, surely not this American boy named Roy. |

| I guess if he’s a rent boy he ain’t going to be two’s up on the Israeli cashier that blew married man Sim out of the market (so to speak)! The Kosher Nostra really like to keep it in the family! You only have to look at the occupied territories for proof. |

| Re The Rent Boy Message. We dont think you are grown up as you wouldn’t tell adults that they are childish as you would understand this is not fantasy world weekend fun this is real life and many people have lost their livliehoods because of greed and dishonesty. Think before you make judgements |
