Thanks for setting up a trade, receiving MY discs and then NOT sending me yours. Not sure why someone who runs a site like yours would treat me the way you have. You have lied directly to me in emails promising to engage in a trade. To bad for me the trade was only one way. Maybe that is how you get so many special recordings.

| Thanks for making the effort to put this page together in memory of one of the greatest modern saxophonist innovators (if not the greatest!) of this era (80’s and beyond). To share a couple memories of my own (1) one of the first jazz albums I ever purchased was Brecker Brothers ’Sneakin Up Behind You’ that has Skunk Funk on it. (2) I saw Michael perform live at the Musician’s Exchange in Ft Lauderdale in the mid-80’s. After hearing him I seriously considered quitting playing. God bless! |

I really miss Mike. Besides being one of the greatest players to ever pick up a sax, he was one of the most nicest human beings I ever met. The night the picture of him, Roy Haynes, and myself was taken stays as a special performance in my career. Who is not visible in the picture but on stage with us was Rufus Reid on bass, and Henry Butler on piano. The night even included Donald Harrison sitting in with us on the last set. R.I.P. Michael.

| Hi, i followed the brecker brothers from the 70s when i was a teenager to today, I’m now in my 50s, sadly i never had the pleasure of seeing them live, although i do have many recordings on vinel and cd. The closest player i saw to Michael was art porter, i did see him perform live, would make u want to turn your horn into a lamp. check him out on utube c "straight to the point" anyway its always good to share music. Christoph,
Lots of the clips on YouTube are taken from my website. I get this question a lot. Maybe I will in the future, bit by bit. |

Hi Louis,
nearly three years ago i wrote you this mail;
Hi Louis
months ago I wrote you an email. I was sad about the illness of Michael Brecker and that he stopped playing his horn. You answered me and gave me nice words of comfort back. Now he passed away. I never heard him live on stage.
I am very impressed by your collection of the Brecker Data.
But there is still a question for me (I’m a sax player, too);
Why do you not publish your Videos in You tube?
Which sense has such a collection if not to make possible that every musician has the possibility to hear and see the genius of Michael Brecker?
So long
Christoph |
