| What a surprise when I thought about looking you up on www. We loved the original group with Jim and Marsha, met them when they came to Calvary Tabernacle in Corpus Christi. We were saddened at the passing of Marsha. We moved back to Oklahoma, (my hometown) in 1987, and Jim and the remaining group stopped by our church here on their way to another meeting up state from here. Still have the tapes we got from them, still love them and listen to them. Haven’t had a chance to hear any new ones, but so long as you keep the Lord in your music, it has to be good.!! Love to all D & W Robinson |

<!--288326-->Barry, thank you for you kind comments. Yes, Marsha Knippa is in Heaven. I believe she went to be with the Lord after SOG had been together either 4 or 5 years. Also, Gary Allen who played steel guitar passed away a few years ago. The group is still going after almost 30 years though it has changed a lot. We will be having a 30 year Reunion this May 28th in Ingleside Texas. Former members will be there which include Jim Miller, Ty Daughtry (drummer) Jerrel & Pam Hawes, Wade Burleigh (bass). We are hoping that Gary Jennings will also be able to be with us. He played piano and helped with arrangements. There will also be a host of friends and hopefully some other groups we have become friends with over the years. It is gonna be a BLAST. We are also now on Face Book under The Song Of Glory. Look us up. Bruce has some pictures uploaded and we have links to a couple of videos.
God Bless you

Just wanted to say I haven’t seen the group since the 1980’s when you came to our church, West Heights Baptist, Corpus Christi, TX. So, the last recording I purchased was "IT’S TIME", when Jim Miller was with the group. I have the other albums prior to that one, and being a computer tech, I have ripped the cassette tapes to MP3, and have them on my Motorola Droid phone, which traveled with me to Edmonton, Alberta Canada this past week. When I got back into my hometown of Huntsville, AL, I was singing "Steps", and "There Is Peace in the Midst of the Storm". I believe the girl who sang that is in heaven today! What a good testimony she is now living in heaven. We now live in Huntsville, Alabama, and the Song of Glory rides with me in my car on my Droid smart phone.
See, you never know how far your ministry will reach-out, even on trips to Canada! |
