Fishteins came from Lithuania..My mother Sophia Pinkus,94, remembers her mother Polly Fishtein(Cannon) saying the family came from Doag, small village near Vilna (Vilnius).Miriam & the 5 young children walked to Szczecin from where they embarked for England. The men came on later.Other errors in your data...you still have a compos mentis resource alive (not me, my mother).

Thanks to yout fabulous site I could very easily find the straight line between myself and uptill now earliest found ancestor; Patriarch Baruch( est.birth 1585)And at the same time discover where the rumour in the family (already from my grandfathers time)about using or not the addition Pardo comes from.
Baruch changed gradually to Barug in the archives.

My nothers family is also a Goldberg from russia and holzmark[now kansas city] also from russia came to US in early 1800s via houston,Tex. May also have been a Levy in there somewhere.

I know very little about our family heritage at this time. My family settled in Tennessee years ago. I often wonder how it came to be that they settled here in the first place and even where we all came from to begin with. I would love to know more.
