I have a photograph of a Master Mariner 25 jewels purchased in Ipswich in 1962. It is an automatic with a quick date adjust facility and has a off white almost pearl face. Unfortunately I have misplaced the watch and am currently searching for it in a mass of memorabilia streatching over forty six years. |

Hi there,
Just had my Fathers 21 jewel Master Mariner overhauled at a local "old time watchmakers". Giving it to my husband for Xmas. He had worn it previously but stopped when the bracelet broke. The watchmaker was very impressed with the movement. Any idea of its value please. By the way, I am in Hervey Bay, Queensland, Australia, moving here when my Dad passed in 2000.
Great site. Thank you.

Many thanks Roy for this site.
I have been able to identify my fathers watch and even get it sent for service, long over due as the last person to service it was Mr Betts ! original reciept found.
I was stunned you havent got this watch on your web site its the solid gold 17 jewelled Grand Master Mariner 1950s and have been told its quite rare.
By the way it still keeps perfect time not bad for a watch 58 years old!!

Hi,
I have a Le Cheminant Master Mariner 41 jewel watch with an expandable stainless steel band. I was wondering if you could suggest where it may be possible to get it refurbished and if the stainless steel strap is likely to be original?
Many thanks

Just found your site having just bought a vintage LE CHEMINANT MASTER MARINER 41 jewel watch today. The watch came with its original invoice from Le Cheminant in Wigmore Street showing that it cost £19.10 shillings hen purchased new on 1st July 1961. Will probably sell watch on ebay soon and great to get all the info on this maker from your superb website.
