| It is a pleasure to visit your website and see the names of our crews. Thanks for your service and for keeping Echo Battery in the limelight. Any Woodpeckers that would like to correspond with me, have at it. Love to hear from you. |

| I arrived with E battery in mid Dec 1967 and left there in Aug 1969. I served with a great bunch of guys, whom I never see but still miss our friendship. Flying anywhere has never compaired to the ’Viet Nam’ experience. |

11 Bravo of C 1/7, Feb 69 to Apr 70. RTO to Robert E Lee, 2nd Platoon Leader, and RTO to Capt Stillwell and Gordon Flesch. Welcome Home. 10 months in the boonies. 4 months as Company clerk writing letters home for KIAs in Quon Loi. Favorite phrase, "don’t mean nothin’" for which my wife wants to kill me each time I say it. Vietnam did mean somethin’.

Oldest daughter of Claud Murphy.
Thank you all for your service to our country. I’m sorry, in that era, our country was not so proud of our soldiers.
Thanks, Dad, it was a huge sacrific to leave a wife and seven children to serve so far away. |

| Youngest daughter of Claud H. Murphy Sr. ( I was born in May 1965 so this website is extra special to me) As my brother Claud Jr. posted earlier Claud H. Murphy, Sr. is still living and going strong. He lives in Columbia SC. No doubt he would love to hear from his buddies! |
