Hi Amy & James,
This is Ian. Enjoyed reading your blog, especially seeing the birthday cake Amy made for you James! I am looking forward to meeting you both soon.
You are living MY dream! I always wanted to work in Architectural Design from a canal boat and you are doing both, Amy!
I moved in to 46 Rivermead Road last weekend and i am LOVING it. Harriet and i are really happy to be together after more than 33 years!
Anyway we hope to come and see you and Lucky Duck soon!

Dear Amy, James and Lyra (miaow),
I have just been speaking to Mike who is selling his boat, St Kilda, about living on narrowboats in Cambridge and he suggested I look you guys up. I haven’t gotten into blogs thus far but yours is very entertaining and life sounds fun!
I was wondering if you could offer any advice on how to go about getting permanent moorings in/around Cambridge? I understand the council’s waiting list is long and so I’m fishing around (pardon the pun) for any alternatives which may exist. Mike seemed to think it was a lot of hassle to be permanently having to move about, but he thought maybe this is what you guys had done?
Any tips you might have would be most welcome. Having looked at pictures of the St Kilda and read your blog, I’m feeling very inspired!
Many thanks,
Louise |

Hello hello - I was wondering if you’ve passed the narrow boat I’m going to stay on over the summer. It’s called Savannah Breeze, and is red and blue, 68ft (I think...) Bit of a wild stab, but you are pretty knowledgable about Cambridge nb community!
Hope Lyra is settling in well,

I read your blog often and have put it into my weblinks, however the story about the dog (fender) was quite amazing!
Concerning your drive train problem, nyloc nuts shouldn’t come off. I am surprised.

| I was cruising through some blog spots and came across yours. Very interesting. I’ve done a lot of the Erie Canal system in New York State USA but not in a narrow boat. I love the canals. I also work with a crew team here as a boatman (repair man) so your blog got my attention. I will bookmark it. |
