| my dad is james cairnduff but his dob is wrong on your family tree he was born 1955 not 1956 and rose and david cairnduff are his parents his sister is lorraine and her dob is wrong to it should be 1958. i was born 03.06.1985 and my brother grant was born 19.01.1996 my dad also has two other sons to a previous marrige james and kevin cairnduff . |

| My great grandmother lived with the Carnduffs in Lanark after her parents died in 1864. They changed her name from Frances Beatrice Halliday to Harriet Carnduff, and she named her daughter, my grandmother, Margaret Cairnduff Garvin (Margaret’s birth date was 1 March 1888, so I think her name is imcomplete in your listing of Canadian births in Lanark). I would love to find out more about Harriet/Frances and her birth parents and what happened to them, since they both died 4 April 1864 in Montague Township, Lanark County, Ontario. Their names were William Halliday (also Holiday, Holliday and Halladay) and Eliza or Elizabeth Wilton. Any help would be appreciated. |

| Hello all the Cairnduffs out there (and all the various spellings!) Great website. I haven’t looked at it for a while. Alan, you have put in a lot of work. I was born in Glasgow, but have lived in Australia for 40 years. Currently in Perth WA. My father was Hugh Cairnduff (1897 - 1973) from Barrhead originally and his youngest brother Robert was called Carenduff (or Carnduff?). |

Hi,
I am not a cairnduff, but I came across this site by accident and the name rang a bell. I was born and raised in Ravarnette near Lisburn Co.Down and from my childhood I recall a william Cairnduff ( Billy ) who lived in a little cottage beside the old flax mill ( now a waste paper business as it was then too at the time ). He seemed an old man then, but anyone older than 40 was old to a youngster ;) As far as I can recall, Billy was the ’night watchman’ for the paper factory. I never knew what happened to him but have often wondered. The year would have been apprx 1969.

Hello - Have had some contact in the past. My Carnduff/Cairnduff family tree is from Newtownards, Co. Down, Ireland. My mother was Marion Cairnduff, and as most of her siblings carried the name as spelled there - while she had a couple of brothers that carried the name Carnduff. All were descended from grandfather Harry Carnduff - who at different times in his life used both spellings.
Anyway, you already have my uncle Harry from Peterborough and my mothers cousin on your listing - I do have more relatives if you would like the information I have to vet.

My 4Xgreat grandmother was Sarah Cairnduff of Boardmills, County Down, Northern Ireland, daughter of William. Her son Thomas was born in Boardmills, married in Dumfries, Scotland, worked as a boatbuilder in Cornwall then emigrated to Port Philip, Australia in 1839 and died in 1860 at Bendigo.
