Hi,
Nice to be reminded of the rivers I used to paddle in my youth. Left Caithness in 1973!!
Can remember paddling the Thurso and Wick in a canvas skinned folding kayak, even ran the Salmon Pool Weir in it once. Finally killed it surfing at Thurso Beach!
Haven’t been back with a boat for many years, my parents still live up there, but looking at the Kildonan and Helmsdale which we paddled in old style high volume fibreglass slalmom boats, it gets me wondering if I should park one on top of the car next time we come up from the Midlands and to h*ll with the wind resistance.
