Hi Connie,

I agree with all the others "what a wonderful website".

I am married to a Williams and for about 40 years we have been searching for our John in Wales. I will be very disappointed if this doesn’t prove to be fruitful but other avenues have been closed off and this is amazing...
There has been folklore in the family that John was related to an Ann and a Morgan, Voila.

At the beginning we were in Wales (from Australia)to search "where he walked" and old slides of the river Usk has now brought me to you and maybe John’s sister Ann and her husband Morgan Evans.

This Williams family in NSW Australia is very strong and several books on relatives and lots of re-unions are held every year.
Thanks for this avenue, Hermina

Connie,
Saw your reference to VanBuren County Alexanders and thought we might be connected but looking through your site I see no connection. My gg Grandfather was William Harvey Alexander who came to VB County IA sometime in late 1830’s and died there in 1878. He had 2 children of first marriage and 7 more in second marriage. All raised in VB County on farm north of Keosuqua, several migrated westward, my line to NW MO and rest to west coast some stayed in VB County.

Hey great site.

Hope you don’t mind, I’ve used one of the images from your site on mine ... www.glascoed.com/html/william_chilton.html ... Llwynon farmhouse ... the Chilton family appear to have lived there just before your family moved in.

Didn’t want to post my email on a bulletin board, but you can contact me via the link on my website, though!!!

Thanks

Dear Connie,

Discovered your site this evening and am looking forward to spending much more time studying it. I am a descendant of Vincent Alexander and Mary Winans (Jesse Denny Alexander and Sarah Elizabeth Simmons, Sarah Elizabeth Alexander and Robert Lee Boyd, and my grandmother was Ruth Edith Boyd who married James George Johns). It is exciting to discover this Alexander and Winan history. Until this evening I knew nothing about Vincent except his name.

Earlier today I was studying Boyd history in early 20th century Texas and my mother’s cousins several times mentioned Alexander neighbors down there so was trying to figure out which Alexanders they were. I think they (C.W. Alexander and Charles Alexander) were descendants of George Washington Alexander, living in Brazoria County, Texas.

I live in Kansas City, Missouri and have been working on my family history for many years but had not accumulated much preceding 1850 until the advent of the PC and the internet. Now I have several lines going back a few hundred years.

I will gladly share what I have however, judging by the appearance of your site, I may not have much that you are not already aware of.

My mother was Mayme Brookhart Drummond. Her father was Francis Warren Brookhart and his father was Charles Brookhart who is mentioned on your site. I can’t quite figure out your connection to the Brookharts.

Interesting. My great-grandmother was Nola Courtney Baldwin Billadeau, daughter of John Watkins and Ann Evans; my paternal grandfather is Gary Billadeau.
Basically, this website you put together opened up a whole link to my own tree... crazy.

I have some old documents from 1673 to 1789 relating to Blaen Callan and mentioning William and Mary Watkins, as well as a Richard Watkins of Nantgoy.
I have recently visited Blaen Callan which appears once to have been the site of a heath-giving spring used by the inhabitants of the area for curing all sorts of illnesses.
If you’d like further details let me know.

11. ROGER DE HART - 2008-03-06 05:37:40
NEED HELP. I am doing the De Hart genealogy and have the following; Laura Davis (1866-1955) married a David Watkins (1873-1943) and had three children Annie Belle, Charles John and Bertha Maude between 1889 and 1892. Laura remarried to John Landes.

You indicate that David Watkins was unmarried.

I have a feeling there may be another David Watkins.

Any help?

Excellent and informative site.

I grew up in Crickhowell and my father still lives in the area.

My great, great, grandfather was George King, the Head Gamekeeper of Glanusk estate, who was allegedly shot dead by John Watkins.
