Hi Guys;
When we tried out Statia for diving, we never expected that we would have such a super great time. As soon as we arrived you made us feel like we were home, and even though we only had a couple of days with you, we feel like we’ve met old friends that we’ve missed for years.
We are going to put up some info on our website SpecializedScuba.com and try to get a group together to get back there as soon as possible. I’ll post videos and pictures to share with all.
We saw pristine coral reefs, a wall dive that rivals Cayman but with tons of healthy corals, sponges and fish, and the wreck dives were fantastic. Turtles, rays, filefish, reef shark on CB and the biggest barracuda I’ve ever seen. I have a picture with Andy about a foot away from that giant barracuda and you can seen that it was almost as big as Andy. We also filmed that tubular thing that no one could identify and I’ll let you know as soon as we can ID it.
Charlie Brown wreck should not be missed! Next time we’ll do multiple dives on CB with the video lights and hit some of the deeper decks. Just did not have enough time to do it all, but we’ll definitely do the night dive on CB next time to film the basket star completely opened. Yeah!
The super plus is that you are right there so all the boat rides are so short we could do the intervals at the dive shop while recharging the video batteries. (WOW!)
Your 6 diver max policy is what we look for wherever we dive. The Seahorse is the best dive boat we have ever been on for small group diving. Its rated for 14, but for groups of 6 or 8 its ideal. Your custom design paid off and it was truly a pleasure to dive with you, especially because we have all the camera and video gear.
I don’t know if anybody reads this stuff but if anybody reading this has any doubts then email me or call me on the phone number on the SpecializedScuba.com website and I’ll tell you myself.
Go dive in Statia and enjoy one of the last remnants of the old Caribbean, and make sure you dive with Rudy and Rhinda at Dive Statia. You won’t regret it.
Thank you for a great time, we’ll be back soon.
Sal

Hi Rinda, Hi Rudy!
It is good to see that you are still alive and everything is okay on Statia. And by the way; You’re looking younger than ever!!!
There are lots of times I’m thinking about those beautiful times under water. Statia was the place where I did the most dives during 3 weeks holiday.
I’m thinking also very often on Win, Laura and all the other nice people I met on Statia (King’s Well has changed, everything is so green, very very nice).
I will never forget the moment when I saw Rinda first at the "Boot" in Düsseldorf. I will never forget my 40th birthday and the party you gave to me. And the sundown ... One of the best pictures I’ve ever did is still hanging on a wall in my living room.
I wish you for your further activities all the best. I think you don’t remember me, but I will never forget my time with you and on Statia.
Love and a kiss

Hey Rudy and Rinda!!!
Hoping you will remember us, we were Sint Eustatius School Of Med class 2004 (left the island in 2002), and Rudy was one of my first patients. I woke up this morning with Statia on my mind. Wanted to say hello, we are expecting our first child any second now- a girl. We miss the island very much, miss DIVING very much. We are in Columbia, MO for the end of Ken’s residency at Mizzou- -not a whole lot of water....
Good to see that all is well, hopefully we’ll get ourselves back down there soon! Take care!

| Hi guys! Just sitting here looking out at a rainy, cold, yucky day and wishing we were diving. All the pics made us so lonesome for you all. We are all doing great. Norm has gone diving with Joe, he brought me back some scallops, YUMMY! But he was COLD,and you know I didn’t even think of attempting it. I put my feet in the water...and let’s just say it was PAINFUL! You know me, I’m walking around here in a sweater and freezing...God help me come January. Hope all is going well for you guys, we miss you all so much. Take care and drop us a line when you get a chance. Lots of love, hugs and kisses from us=D |

Rudy & Rinda,
Just wanted to thank you for the wonderful visit to Statia and the outstanding dives and service we had with Dive Statia. Mike and Marieka were great DMs, and we really enjoyed the tour that Rudy gave us.
You’ll be glad to know that the little knock to the noggin I received courtesy the Tien Chong healed quickly; I figure that now I’ve officially left a little part of me on Statia...;-)
We’re looking forward to a return visit soon!
Regards,
Eric/Marcia
