Hi my names Andy Bird, I’m an aviation author and am currently writing and researching for a book entitled
’Coastal Dawn’ about the exploits of the Blenheim aircrew of 235, 236, 248 and 254 Squadrons from October 1939 to December 1940. The book is due to be published by Grub Street Publishing Limited August 2010. (You can reserve a signed copy).
I would like to make contact with anyone who had a relative or has information/photographs on 254 or any of the other squadrons at this time.
As I would like to pay homage to the hero’s we left behind.
Many Thanks
Andy Bird

Good evening,
I am trying to track down the story behind the final flight of Sgt. George Daglish 254 Sqdn. on 4/6/42.
I have his CWG info. but nothing else.
My father worked for his fathers plumbing company and joined as a 14 year old just after George was KIA. It left a lasting impression and we visited the memorial in Morpeth with his name on it only last week.
Any information would me much appreciated.

| Great site. My grandfather’s brother was Sgt Francis Georeg Kinghan who was killed on operations in a Blenheim over Norway on 25/06/1940. Does anyone know the circumstances of the incident that killed him. He is buried at Haugesand (Rossebo) Var Frelsers Cemetery. Thankyou |
