Tenure-Track Position in Marine Chemistry

The University of Texas invites applications for a Marine Chemist at the rank of Assistant Professor in the Department of Marine Science and Research Assistant
Professor in the Marine Science Institute. The position is based at the Institute (http://www.utmsi.utexas.edu) in Port Aransas, TX. The area of research is open but should complement existing expertise in isotope geochemistry, organic geochemistry, nutrient dynamics, and tracer biogeochemistry. Candidates must have a Ph.D. degree at the time of appointment; postdoctoral experience and a strong research and publication record are preferred. The successful candidate will be expected to develop an externally-funded research program program, teach graduate and undergraduate classes, and supervise graduate students. Applicants should send a PDF file containing a statement of research and specific teaching interests (3 pages maximum) and curriculum vitae to , and have at least three letters of recommendation mailed to; Chemistry Search, The University of Texas Marine Science Institute, 750 Channel View Drive, Port Aransas, Texas 78373-5015. The application must demonstrate how the candidate’s expertise complements that of current faculty and contributes to our graduate program in marine science.
