| It was great to read about your dad and a part of my Uncle Gene’s life that I had only heard bits and pieces about. I am impressed and pleased with the tribute that you payed to him by creating this website. This website gives me a new respect for the man and greater sense of gratitude for he and others who gave of themselves for our country. |

| It was great to read about the men who served in China during and before WW2, they were all brave men who deserve a site like this. Harold D. Lucas, USMC 62-69 |

Thank you for this website.
I am so proud of my Grandfather, Weldon Riley, and it really warmed my heart to see these photos of him.
These memories are so special to so many people - I am always sure to speak to my nephews (Weldon’s great grandchildren) about their GreatGrandfather because it is so important to remember the sacrafices made by those who came before us, and to realize that although this seems like history to my generation, and certainly to theirs, it is a part of our heritage, the trickle down effects impacting how we were raised and what our resulting beliefs are - a reminder of what our priorities should be. Thank you. |

My breath was also taken away the other evening when I googled my late husband’s name, he passed away in May 1995, and his name, Lloyd Martin is mentioned twice. He would speak of his days with the Flying Tigers with fond memories and yes, he told of filling the spare oil tank with "booze"!
I mentioned fond memories, but truly don’t know just how fond they were when one reads of the horrendous conditions they lived under.
Like most fighting men, he didn’t speak often about his China day’s, it was like they were emotionally locked inside him. He did tell of having such bad dysentery he flew his P40 in chinese cooly clothes. Thank you for the wonderful site and my thoughts and prayers go out to those wonderful men who are still with us. I have Lloyd’s chits framed and hanging on the wall. Sincerely, Julie Martin |

Hi- My dad, Roy B. Marker, was one of the Flying Tigers in the 14th Air Force, 5th Fighter Group. I believe he was in China from September’44 to August ’45.
The pictures I had of him standing by the plane with his friends have disappeared.
I was wondering if anyone knows a way to connect with a source that might have old photos which he may appear in.
I’d appreciate any assistance.
Thanks |

Fascinating site. I knew Eugene J. McGuire Jr. on Long Island in the early 50’s. His dad was in the Air Corps during WWII, but I don’t recall any details. He worked for Republic on the Island. My dad worked for Grumman. I seem to recall there was a friendly rivalry over that.
