We love this web site. Like ours, it offers a lot of information that veterans can use. Have you seen the new 2009 Presumptive List of service-connected conditions? If not, visit www.veteranprograms.com to learn what benefits veterans can get today.

I am trying to get information on a fire truck that served at Camp Hale, Co. The serial number is B4237, the number on the hood is 502050. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thank You, Clyde Heun, 9530 Leaside Way, Shreveport, La., 71118

Hi,
My father served in the 601st "C" Battery. His name was Horace "Pete" Buche. I see some of his comrades name’s on your guestbook and was hoping to get in contact with them so that I might get more information about where they traveled etc. as my father passed away when I was 14. Thanks so much for creating this site!

My father was 2nd Lt. Howard E. Pace, FA, of the 604th FA BN (Pack) who arrived at Camp Hale after OCS in Feb. 1943. He left for Europe in Nov. 1943 and was assigned out of the North Africa replacement Depot to a MP BN.

Would be interested in any info on the 604th during 1943.

I served with the 601st in Hq. Btry and "C" Btry in Kiska and in Europe. I noted names of my friends, Major Fowler, Major Nisbet, Koehler and recall many stories and reunions, until we got too old. Im 88 now, and still in touch with those that are still aound. This 601st site is one of the best! Thanks, Hq and "C" Btry guys!

I make and collect toy soldiers. I’ve become interested in the 75mm pack howitzer and the units that used it. Your site has provided excellent information. A later project may depict the 601st. Thanks for an excellent site.

My father, Wm Oliver Nisbet, served in the 601st from Ft Bragg (Pvt) until transfered (MAJ) to the 321st FA Group in France (I think). He died in 1993. Great site. I am retiring from the Army Reserve as a Chaplain and am putting together his papers. Is there a museum that the 601st alumni and descendents place their papers, photos, etc.?
