thanks for this WONDERFUL Miriam Hopkins site! i had seen some of her later stuff through the years but i caught her SUS day on TCM a few weeks ago (aug 20th) and was stunned by her great early work and how it stands the test of time ("Design For Living" "Trouble In Paradise" "The Smiling Lieutenant" "These Three")...to name a few...count me as a new fan!! some of her FABULOUS pre-code paramount stuff is available on ioffer.com at great prices too. check out "The Story Of Temple Drake"--it’s AMAZING!!!! it’s what pre-code hollywood was all about...btw; just read that Tennessee Williams & Hopkins were friends. he wrote her obit and said something along the line that her great talent would someday find a cult following! well, that day is now....

Found some original Paramount photos used for marquees and press releases on Meriam Hopkins. Appears to be autographed and signed in blue ink as M-Hopkins to her publicity agent friend. Does anyone know what movies she appeared in for Paramount in the early thirties? Also found collection of original PR photos for Rudolph Valentino, Greta Garbo, Dolores Del Rio, Douglas Fairbanks, Ramon Navarro in Ben Hur, and others.

Excellent webpage on Miriam Hopkins! She was wonderful in The Old Acquaintance and The Old Maid. She was just as talented as the great Bette Davis and Joan Crawford, but is largely overlooked. Kudos to you on a great page.

High there and thanks from the bottom of my heart I even married a Mariam look alike without knowing anything about her I have driven through Bainbridge more times than I can remember. If I go through again I will pay my respects at Oak City. Once again Thankyou for this wonderful peak into this fantastic actress.

I just finished watching my first Hopkins movie (Dr. Jekyll) and my interest peaked. She was pretty talented and, of course, beautiful. Nice site!

Does anyone know if any of Miriam Hopkins earlier films were ever transfered over to another viewable format. She made many films in the early thirties that I have seen only still photos from with the exception of "Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde." Turner Classic Movies plays only her older films she made after 1939.
